We only use organic cotton, natural and organic wool, or all-natural latex. Everything that goes in to making every Holy Lamb product comes to us from nature. You won't find synthetic materials or chemical additives in anything we create. This Topper is made of our 100% organic cotton fabric and filled with our Premium Eco Wool.
Our cotton is grown in India, then milled and finished in a GOTS-certified facility in Pakistan. Never bleached or dyed, our fabric is naturally soft and durable - And it's all certified 100% organic.
We offer a pristine natural wool sourced from a co-op of small sheep farmers in the western US, and a GOTS-certified organic option from New Zealand. None of our wool is ever carbonized or bleached, and sheep dipping is never practiced.
Sunning your topper periodically will keep it refreshed and revitalize the wool.
There is a natural compression of the wool during the first few weeks of use, of 15%-20%. This is due to the felting process of the wool and will settle after the initial break-in period. For even wear and optimum comfort, we recommend alternately flipping (turning over) and rotating (head to foot) your topper periodically. Do this once a week for the first few months, then every few months as needed.
The scent of wool - Our wool, both natural and organic, is cleaned and processed naturally without the use of harsh chemicals. That's why you may notice the mild sweet scent of sunny farm pastures when you receive your new wool product. The wool retains 1% of the naturally occurring lanolin oil, which helps condition the fibers and keep them fluffy and soft for years to come. Most customers find the scent dissipates within a few days.
To preserve and extend the life of your quilted topper, try our Moisture Barriers and Puddle Pads for extra protection. Note, all products made with wool batting will settle over time with use.
Wool is temperature regulating and can absorb moisture and transport it away from the body, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Wool is naturally mildew & dust mite resistant because of tiny bulbs on the fibers - making it an excellent hypoallergenic material.
Wool is fire-resistant, requiring a very high ignition temperature and large amounts of oxygen to burn.
Wool is biodegradable! This makes our wool & cotton products fully compostable at the end of their life, leaving no waste behind!
Learn MoreWool does a terrific job of keeping you warm in the winter and is a superstar fiber when it comes to moisture wicking. It’s why wool is our go-to option when it’s time to bundle up for colder weather. The basic science is simple: wool fibers absorb moisture and release it into the air.
